Chiostro’s first-ever gluten-free colomba dove cake for spring announced
Italian panettone manufacturer Chiostro di Saronno has unveiled two new colomba cakes for Spring 2024!
Italian for “dove,” colomba is part of Italy's culinary Easter tradition with candied orange peels topped with sprinkles and almonds. New varieties include a gianduja hazelnut praline chocolate option as well as the brand’s first gluten-free colomba.
Orders for these exciting new products can be submitted before B&R Classics’ spring pre-book deadline rapidly approaching on October 30th, with orders expected to ship in February.
New Colomba
Italian for “dove,” Colomba is part of Italy's culinary Easter tradition. A yeasted dough enriched with butter, eggs, and sugar is shaped into a dove, then topped with almond paste, pearl sugar, and almonds. Chiostro di Saronno enhances its Colomba with white wine making the Colomba fruity, aromatic, and fresh. A cousin of panettone, the Colomba is produced according to the traditional recipe through slow and natural leavening. All ingredients are natural, fresh, and free of preservatives and colorants. This delicious cake is an excellent gift or a treat to share with loved ones. This Colomba is filled with gianduja hazelnut praline chocolate and is hand wrapped in rustic-designed packaging.
